The Avondale Staff

When thinking about what is right with Avondale Elementary School, I always think about the wonderful people who work here. I don't know where there is a group of people more dedicated to making sure that students are learning. All of our teachers are highly qualified and effective teachers. They genuinely care about children as evidenced by the hugs they receive on a daily basis from the little ones in our charge. There is not a single teacher on the AES staff who does not worry and fret over those students who have difficulty, either academically or behaviorally. They are all experienced in implementing interventions to try to help each student be successful. Much data is gathered during the course of these interventions to determine their effectiveness. Decisions concerning academic and behavior plans are driven by the results of this data. The AES teachers use highly effective teaching strategies in their instruction with much hands on experiences for the students. The dedication shown by this wonderful group of people is an inspiration to all who walk through our doors. Fortunate are the children who get to experience all the wonderful people at Avondale Elementary School! I truly wish that every student could have the same experience upon entering school!!

Avondale Elementary School

There are so many things written these days about what is wrong with schools. Well, I want to share with you that there are a lot of things right with my school! Avondale Elementary School is THE best school in the entire world. Over the next few weeks and months I am going to share some of the things that are going on there that make it such a wonderful place for children. First, and foremost, we have a shared mission and vision at Avondale. Our mission was established through work done by our staff, students, parents, and community members. All of our stakeholders are in agreement that our vision is "Success for all...whatever it takes" and our mission is "to provide opportunities for success while accepting the differences of others. We teach for the future as we strive for excellence." We live this mission every day. Every member of the staff at Avondale has one goal in mind and that is to do what it takes to ensure that every student and adult is learning.

There are great things happening every day at Avondale. There's just a whole lot that is right with our school, and the world needs to hear that!
